You're real handy with that piano, this was a good listen.
Could use a little more flavor in some areas, I'm extremely happy that the second part was different from the first, the transitions were pretty good not too jarring.

An idea, at the kick stutter at about :57 cutoff the attack on each piano note slightly, make it feel like it's got a gate on it, and throw in more little changes like that to break up the repetitiveness.

Not sure what the samples are from, but sounds cool.

KrissOk responds:

Oh mate I wish I could play the piano. I found a midi score and used the notes, I am not a musician at any rate (as much as I do attempt to write melodies from time to time).

I made this one like a fun thing back in 2003 or so, so there is no work files to tamper with no more. The talk I nicked from the movie "Everything is Illuminated", one of my absolute all time favs. It had some background music on why I trashed it up to the whispering thing that is going on as to erase the original score.

It was a fun plaything to make and intended as such, lighstepping fun with an idea. Obvi the second part has some extra flare than the first, whoever does a verbatim repeat at the end? ;)

Thanks for your considered input, much appreciated!

Interesting little glitchy/ambient track. Never heard of idm so I can't compare it.
The beat is good, reminds me of a plugin called like dblue-glitch or something like that.

Good work on using white noise and various pads to fill in the gaps, a lot of people don't realize how the track sounds as a whole while working on it because you're focusing on whatever instrument in particular you want.

Where did those vocal samples come from? They fit super well, I'm wondering if you edited the vocals to fit the song, or made the song around the vocals.

Anyways, pretty good I suppose. Keep at it!

thanks for your review. i used "dance" vocal sample in fl studio packs and "aaah" sample that is in the second half i randomly downloaded from youtube. glad you liked that, this is my first track so this means a lot to me.
btw, aphex twin has some awesome idm tracks, i got inspiration from him :)

Pretty interesting to listen to on its own. I feel like it will be a lot better in the context of a game or show, but alone it's kind of awkward.

at 0:28 things get weird. is it off beat? not sure what's going on. no transitions makes the overarching objective hard to follow.

Tune is catchy though which is a plus.
Sounds are unique and hi enough quality.

A nice piece overall, could use a tab bit of work though.

First thing though, however you make your sounds they're awesome. Very realistic. This would make some good soundtrack music.

Around 1:15 things start to come apart a little. The piano is clashing on certain notes, the drums become kind of distracting, the pads in the background create tension instead of complimenting what's there.

At 2:25 things get real groovy, I dig it.

At 2:45 I see what the goal is, great idea but it seems a little jarring. same at 3:35 it's like totally different song.

After listening to the entire thing I kind of get a feeling like I just shuffled through the radio without finding anything particular I wanted to hear.

Pizzagod25 responds:

I 100% agree. The parts itself are pretty good, but they clash together and make this my least favourite song I made. It really is failing in transitions and just doesnt hit the right notes. I only uploaded because I spend a lot of time making it 6 minutes. Please check out my other songs, they are way better. I will upload more tomorrow but since you can only upload 4 per day and I already had 9 songs before I started it will be up to date in three days. Hopefully you listen to some other songs too! Thanks for the review mate!

It's nice to see there's still some people out there trying to make some true trance music.

Good song overall, feels like a little sound in a big hall though.
Needs some more stuff to fill in the gaps.

Dang man this is some good production.
Not sure if that riser at the intro is supposed to be connected or not, but the pause is kind of an awkward amount of time.

The drop and everything else is real good though. Nice one

Nice man, that's a good tone. The base-line is actually interesting and doesn't just follow along with a lead. You have a real good use of different chords on that keyboard.

The song is full and doesn't lack anything. That snare is so crisp I'm impressed.

The only thing I could criticize would be the last half minute is a little cluttered, and the song overall is repetitive, but I honestly believe you did that as a stylistic choice so...

What I'm getting at is GOOD JOB!!!!!!!!!

Vista-Sound13 responds:

Wow thanks, I really appreciate that!

EDIT: You know, the repetition in this track was done as a stylistic choice, but I tried to get less repetitive, but it's not that simple to do so, but that's alright.

Great production value. Sounds professionally made mastering and levels are good.

The song itself just isn't extremely enjoyable to me. I get this was kind of a "challenge" project, but I find the lead ring to be meh at best and the bass to be very rudimentary.

Drums are real cookie cutter, but love that guitar tone, very full.

Rock on man this is dope, do you record with mic set in front of amp? and how do you do your drums?

Thank you for stopping by my profile!
I do some music stuff and play games. Haven't been on Newgrounds for a while but I think it will be fun to get back into it.
Feel free to pm me for collabs or just to chat!
